Brief History
Many members of the Matula family came to from Czechoslovakia, which is now known as Slovakia. Slovakia covers
an area of 18,922 square miles in the heart of Central Europe and is remarkable attributes consist of mountains. The
territory of Slovakia is divided into three parrallel ranges, these ranges include High Tatras, Low Tatras and the Slovak
Ore Mountains. Over thousands of years ago when the Slavs were invaded by the Magyars, Slovakia has struggled to be
regonized as its own nation.
Slovak Tradition
Tradion in Slovakia is kept alive based upon its cultural music. Slovak folk music is the most popular, within
different regions you will find the people performing their own unique dances. When these dances are performed they
were costumes made up of boots with ribbons, hats, and dresses.
